Best Summer Moments 2019
Summer is our favorite season here at the outpost. We’re busier than ever, and we love to take advantage of the nice weather and what nature has to offer before fall comes around. Conveniently located near Chattanooga and north of Atlanta, Outland Expeditions has so many fun opportunities nearby that can make the best memories for your kids. We’ve rounded up our favorite post-rafting summer activities below. Bring your sunglasses and good vibes, and meet us outside!
Swingin’ Midway Drive-In Theater
Located just 30 minutes from the outpost in Athens, Tenn., the Swingin’ Midway Drive-In Theater is a great place to kick back after a long day on the river. This is a must-do for your summer memory list. There’s an affordable snack bar on-site, and tickets range from $5-$7 for TWO movies per night. Kids under 5 are free, and they can blow off any remaining energy on the theater’s huge playground. Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park
With rides and attractions for the entire family, Lake Winnepesaukah is recognized as one of America’s top ten family amusement parks for all ages. Tickets range from $18-$35, and the amusement rides and water park are open daily. If you’re wanting to test your luck and skills, traditional carnival games are available throughout the park, along with several dining options that include a picnic area to bring your own food. The Chattanooga Market
The Chattanooga Market is the region’s largest producer-only marketplace, providing fresh produce, artisan foods, and locally-produced arts and crafts to the Tennessee Valley. Sunflower Festival at Copper Creek Farm
Located just south of the outpost, Copper Creek Farm’s annual Sunflower Festival is a great addition to rafting the Ocoee. Continue immersing yourself in nature and take in thousands of beautiful sunflowers in the midst of pure family fun. Check out everything that’s included in your ticket price below.
